Topics to be covered in the morning session:
- Why relationships are more important now than ever before: donor choice, and fundraisers who are tactic rich but strategy poor
- How to create a donor-centered organization: donor interests, emotional triggers, and the Donor Centric Pledge
- How to develop meaningful relationships: donor research, genuine conversation, cultivation strategies, and donor-centered communications
Topics to be covered in the afternoon session:
- How to identify those who might be interested: a lifestyle issue for staff and board members, and no trespassing
- How to involve board members in fund development: defining the measures, participating in the planning process, and nurturing relationships through story telling and conversation
- How to help board members do this work: effective enabling by staff
- How to ask for gifts: using personal, face-to-face solicitation
